Cooperatives are private enterprises; through self-help, reinvesting in their communities and concern for the well-being of people and the world in which we live, cooperatives nurture a long-term vision for economic participation, self-reliance, sustainable growth, social development and environmental responsibility.

USAID Deputy Assistant Administrator, Kimberley Rosen, will highlight USAID’s “Journey to Self-Reliance” and the roll out of the Agency’s “Private Sector Engagement” policy, and how cooperatives,play a critical role in helping communities and countries lead their own development objectives.
