On November 4 in Cartagena, Colombia, at the III Summit of Cooperatives in the Americas, NCBA CLUSA and five leading cooperative groups formally launched a new cooperative hemispheric agricultural network to address regional agricultural growth that is sustainable, equitable, and inclusive.
The other regional groups included the Cooperative Confederation of Argentina (Cooperar); Uruguay’s Federated Agricultural Cooperatives (CAF); Federation of Production Cooperatives of Paraguay (FECOPROD); Organization of Cooperatives of Brazil (OCB); and Cooperatives of the Americas, the regional office of the International Cooperative Alliance. Also signing as honorary witnesses were the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation in Agriculture (IICA) and the Colombian representative of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization.
