Consultant for the formulation of a sustainability plan for the Wadata program in Niger
For over 100 years, the National Cooperative Business Association CLUSA International (NCBA CLUSA) has contributed to high-impact international development projects in more than 85 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Grounded in the seven cooperative principles, NCBA CLUSA’s international development work seeks to alleviate poverty through social and economic empowerment. NCBA CLUSA’s work focuses on building resilient communities, creating economic opportunities, and strengthening cooperatives and producer organizations. Our community-led development approach empowers communities to identify, promote, and manage sustainable, locally generated solutions.
In Niger, the project “Wadata”, which translates to “prosperity” in the Hausa language, aims to sustainably improve the food security and resilience of extremely poor and chronically vulnerable households in the Zinder region, through layered interventions targeted at communities, households and individuals. The project is funded by USAID/Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA). It is implemented by a consortium of organizations including Save the Children, NCBA CLUSA, The Kaizen Company, and DEMI-E.
