Job Opportunity: Gender, Equity, and Social Inclusion Specialist– PENDING AWARD

Project: USAID-funded Feed the Future

Are you a passionate expert in this area with proven skills and experience in designing, conducting training, analysis, and assessments related to GESI ? If so, NCBA CLUSA is looking for you for the upcoming, anticipated USAID-funded Feed the Future project in Madagascar. This transformative five-year initiative aims to reduce poverty and malnutrition while building resilience in households, communities, and systems to better withstand challenges such as market volatility, climate shifts, and conflict.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads GESI technical advising across project activities, including developing a GESI strategy, advising on how to tailor workplan activities to incorporate GESI considerations, and review activity scopes of work (SOWs) to ensure GESI mainstreaming across the project.  
  • Designs and conducts relevant GESI analyses and assessments as needed, including designing research methodology, data collection tools, and leading data analysis and report writing.  
  • Designs and delivers training programs and workshops to enhance staff and stakeholder understanding of gender and social inclusion.   
  • Ensures consistent consideration of GESI throughout the project activities in alignment with USAID’s gender equality and women empowerment policy.  
  • Ensures gender and social inclusion considerations are incorporated in monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) plans to inform gender integration in project activities.   
  • Other relevant duties as assigned. 

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES: 

  •  Bachelor’s degree in gender/women’s studies, social sciences, international relations, development studies, or closely related discipline and minimum of 7 years of experience.  
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in social inclusion of youth, persons with disabilities, and migrants.  
  • Minimum of 7 years of demonstrated professional experience as Gender or GESI Advisor or in a similar role. Preferred experience integrating GESI in agriculture, integrated rural development, resilience and livelihood.    
  • In-depth experience working in gender and social inclusion in the Madagascar context required.  
  • Demonstrated experience conducting gender and social inclusion analyses or research.  
  • Demonstrated knowledge of USAID policies on gender equity and social inclusion.  
  • Ability to produce well written reports demonstrating analytical ability and communication skills.  
  • Fluency in French and English required.
