Why Diversity, Equity and Inclusion should be the core of your cooperative
Presented by Capital Impact Partners

Economic justice and empowerment are the roots of the cooperative movement. A growing number of organizations have been focusing on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) to embed racial and social justice into all facets of their work. These efforts can impact strategy, hiring practices, procurement, internal policy, and programmatic goals.  Embarking on the DEI process demands focus, courage, and persistence as organizations face historical inequities, power structures and inherent biases that have shaped our current realities, workplaces, and communities where we focus. Many cooperative development-focused organizations incorporate DEI work into their core mission. During this session we will hear from a range of organizations who will discuss their motivations, processes, and lessons in exploring how this work has been critical to their vision.

In addition, it will talk about the power of consumer reviews, off page search engine optimization (SEO) as well as the importance of personalization to today’s consumers.
