Cooperatives are a significant factor of global supply chains for commodities like coffee, cocoa and vanilla. The cooperative business structure gives smallholder farmers the opportunity to be owners with other growers, buyers or sellers of something much larger than what they could accomplish alone. This event will address the successes and challenges of engaging cooperatives to develop sustainable supply chains and explore the potential for greater impact.
Beginning with an overview of the new five-year project, the event will transition to a panel discussion featuring partners such as Fairtrade America, International Finance Corporation and McCormick & Company on developing sustainable supply chains through co-ops.
