The Benefits of Membership
NCBA CLUSA membership means many things. Whether you join as an individual or a cooperative, our organization presents many incredible opportunities for learning and enacting change.
Co-op Representation
As a member of NCBA CLUSA, you participate in an organization dedicated to elevating cooperatives in the federal space. With a unified voice, our representatives take pressing issues to national organizations and party members to educate lawmakers and influence policy.
Our work in this space has led to impressive legislative wins, such as keeping the Rural Cooperative Development Grant (RCDG) program in place. We continue to focus on advocacy with various goals, such as ensuring cooperatives have the financial support they need to thrive.
News and Analysis
We keep our members informed about the latest changes in policy and our current goals. You’ll receive weekly newsletters with our latest findings, progress on goals and spotlights on cooperatives to highlight their impact.
NCBA CLUSA also sends out the Quarterly Cooperative Business Journal, where we dive deeper into the work we’ve done over the previous quarter and our outlook for the next one. This publication takes a more analytical look at our work to help our members understand NCBA’s impact.
Education and Learning
Membership in NCBA CLUSA also comes with educational opportunities to strengthen how cooperatives are run around the country. Every year, we hold the Cooperative IMPACT Conference, and a membership comes with discounted entry to the event. This is a national cross-sector conference that encourages a conversation around the trusted and proven ways to build communities and do business as co-op.
Themes vary from year to year, and we explore a wide range of subjects with leaders in the space. Topics like inequality, global conflict and climate change often play a role in our conversations and help us understand how cooperatives benefit communities as the world changes.
Marketing and Networking
NCBA CLUSA becomes your support system for highlighting your cooperative and building connections with other organizations. As a cooperative member, we can highlight your business to discuss your mission and what you’ve achieved in your community.
You’ll also have the chance to connect with other cooperatives in our network to learn about their processes and take cues from their successes. While our news releases can share the impact of other member cooperatives, we can also connect you with cooperatives in other areas with similar goals. Share your processes and learn from each other to help your respective communities thrive.
Volunteer Opportunities
Connect to a Global Cooperative Network and volunteer with co-ops around the world to make a difference in communities on an international scale. We have ongoing projects worldwide with the goal of alleviating poverty and catalyzing economic and social development. We have over 65 years of experience spearheading these projects, and with your help, we can continue to make a difference.
