Developing Sustainable Supply Chains through Cooperatives

Cooperatives are a significant factor of global supply chains for commodities like coffee, cocoa and vanilla. The cooperative business structure gives smallholder farmers the opportunity to be owners with other growers, buyers or sellers of something much larger than what they could accomplish alone. This panel will discuss the successes and challenges of engaging cooperatives to develop sustainable supply chains and explore the potential for greater impact.

Join us at the National Press Club for the launch of our Cooperative Development Program: Creating an Environment for Cooperative Expansion, with generous funding from USAID. The event will include an overview of the new five year project, and panel discussion with partners such as Fairtrade America, International Finance Corporation and McCormick & Company on developing sustainable supply chains through co-ops.
