The cooperative movement is at a crossroads. With American economic growth largely concentrated in a few highly populated urban areas, swaths of the country continue to feel disconnected from their economy and unsure about the future. Many feel resentment over the way they perceive public policy decisions are made and resources are allocated. Cooperators know that ownership is the path to a more inclusive economy.
At the 2018 Co-op IMPACT Conference this fall, we’ll embrace this cooperative moment. Under the theme, “The Cooperative Economy: Grow, Participate, Connect,” we’ll elevate and expand an environment in which people have a greater say in their futures and more equitable access to sustainable jobs and opportunities in the communities where they live.
With speakers and thought leaders representing educational institutions, foundations, law and accounting firms, government agencies and international development organizations, IMPACT 2018 will amplify the impact co-ops already have in the U.S. and around the world and explore new ways co-ops can spur even greater economic growth and participation!
The 2018 Co-op IMPACT Conference is scheduled for October 3 – 5 in Arlington, Virginia at the Sheraton Pentagon City Hotel. NCBA CLUSA’s group rate is available until September 1, 2018 and applies from September 29 through October 7 to accommodate cooperators in town for other events, including NCBA CLUSA’s 2018 Co-op Festival, planned for October 6 and 7. Book a room here.
