Join us for ‘Seeding Tomorrow: Generative AI, Farming Data and the Commons’ for a 90-minute exploration into how artificial intelligence (AI), data, finance, and small-scale farming practices intersect to foster sustainability. Leveraging insights from experts across Bangladesh, Kenya, Greece, and the United States, this course examines pressing issues, including AI’s role in predicting farming trends, empowering farmers through data for informed decision-making, the crucial role of shared resource management for environmental sustainability, and innovative financial strategies to broaden access to resources and markets for small-scale farmers.

Centered on “farmer-centric data governance,” this mini-course explores the potential of agricultural data as a collective resource, aiming to distribute the benefits of digitalization equitably among farmers. Through detailed case studies, we aim to ignite conversations on innovative solutions for a sustainable and equitable future for farming communities worldwide, tackling the challenges posed by the dominance of digital agriculture providers, exploring the mechanics of forming and operating data cooperatives, and examining their impact on improving farmers’ economic resilience.
