The National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU) will operate under a new name as of January 1, 2017āthe National Association of Federally-Insured Credit Unionsāto reflect that all the associationās federally-insured members now have full voting rights and the ability to serve on the NAFCU Board of Directors.

Harris, president and CEO of Caltech Employees Federal Credit Union. āWe remain committed to providing the best in advocacy, education and compliance assistance at the federal level.”
The NAFCU Board voted unanimously to change the associationās name. NAFCUās logo and acronym will stay the same, preserving the associationās strong brand recognition.
In September, NAFCUās membership approved the boardās unanimous recommendation to amend the associationās articles of incorporation to giveĀ federally-insured, state-chartered members full membership and to reinforce NAFCUās focus on credit union issues at the federal level.
NAFCU will continue to advocate for credit unions at the federal level, with a focus on obtaining regulatory relief for the industry fromĀ NCUA,Ā CFPB and other regulators.
The National Association of Federally-Insured Credit Unions is the only national trade association focusing exclusively on federal issues affecting the nationās federally-insured credit unions.
