NCBA CLUSA is representing U.S. cooperatives at the 2016 International Summit of Cooperatives this week. If you’re in Quebec City, be sure to stop by our booth in the exhibit hall.

Inspired by 100 years of cooperatives that build a better world, the booth chronicles co-op history from 1916 to 2016, touching on key milestones during the century, such as the creation of the Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative (IFFCO)—now the largest fertilizer co-op in the world—the development of the CLUSA Approach to international development, the creation of the .coop domain and the establishment of the Congressional Cooperative Business Caucus and Interagency Working Group on Cooperative Development.

Judy Ziewacz, president and CEO of NCBA CLUSA, spoke on a panel yesterday called “Women’s Growing Leadership in the Economy,” making the case that women have thrived in and significantly grown the cooperative sector. “The advancement of women is best served in our democratic government, our institutions and our cooperatives,” Ziewacz said.
