NCBA CLUSA is co-hosting an innovation summit on Thursday, March 1 at its headquarters in Washington, DC designed to apply new methodologies to rural policy development.
The event will bring together a bipartisan group of rural policy leaders and technology experts to discuss approaches to policy development that can help rural America better capture economic opportunities through the Rural Development Title of the Farm Bill.
NCBA CLUSA will offer two livestreams during the Farm Bill Rural Development Innovation Summit:
- 9 – 9:30 a.m. EST Anne Hazlett, Assistant to the Secretary for Rural Development at the U.S. Department of Agriculture
- 1 – 1:40 p.m. EST Tom Vilsack, former U.S. Secretary of Agriculture
This week’s summit will apply approaches borrowed from the technology sector to federal policy development designed to ensure that the best ideas are surfaced and tested for their potential impact.
The event is expected to inspire a bipartisan coalition to come together around 3 to 5 transformational ideas, ultimately creating a clear opportunity to steer the Farm Bill toward the best interests of rural America: job creation and local solutions that spur economic prosperity.
The Farm Bill Rural Development Innovation Summit is hosted by the Rural Community Assistance Partnership (RCAP), the New America Public Interest Technology team and NCBA CLUSA.
