Sara Horowitz is the founder of the Freelancers Union and the Freelancers Insurance Company and was formerly chair of the board of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Her new book, Mutualism: Building a New Economy from the Ground Up, contains vital lessons for navigating our changing economy, meeting needs unmet by insufficient safety nets, and building a better future by re-harnessing the spirit and lessons from America’s cooperative history. During this keynote conversation, Esteban Kelly, NCBA CLUSA board member and Executive Director of the U.S. Federation of Worker Cooperatives, will interview Sara about her book, her perspectives on cooperative identity and how cooperatives can meet some of today’s most pressing challenges around work, social and economic justice, and more. This is a singular chance to hear two best-in-class experts on cooperatives and mutualism discuss the challenges and possibilities cooperatives currently face.
