NCBA CLUSA offers multiple partnership pathways. Non-cooperative companies that serve or do business with co-ops can join as Associate Members to access business and educational resources and connect with the cooperative community. For international development partnerships, NCBA CLUSA collaborates with NGOs, private-sector businesses, and donors on projects in food security, agriculture, governance, and community resilience. Companies can also sponsor or co-host events like the annual Cooperative IMPACT Conference. Yes! NCBA CLUSA is committed to supporting the next generation of cooperative leaders and provides resources to help you start a successful cooperative. NCBA CLUSA provides educational resources and guides for people interested in starting a cooperative. The organization also advocates for federal programs that directly support cooperative development, including the USDA's Rural Cooperative Development Grant (RCDG) program and initiatives under the Main Street Employee Ownership Act. Internationally, NCBA CLUSA applies cooperative principles to help communities launch and strengthen co-ops from the grassroots level. This includes agriculture (e.g., Blue Diamond, Ocean Spray), financial services and credit unions, grocery and food co-ops, healthcare co-ops, housing cooperatives, insurance, education, utilities (including rural electric cooperatives), worker cooperatives, and purchasing cooperatives. With an estimated 40,000-plus cooperative businesses in the U.S ranging from small neighborhood stores to multibillion-dollar organizations NCBA CLUSA serves as the unifying voice for the full diversity of the cooperative economy. NCBA CLUSAs flagship event is the annual Cooperative IMPACT Conference, held each October in Washington, D.C. IMPACT is the only national, cross-sector cooperative conference, bringing together co-op developers, financers, community leaders, policymakers, and international development practitioners for plenary sessions, breakout workshops, Lightning Talks, and the annual Hike the Hill advocacy day on Capitol Hill. Beyond IMPACT, NCBA CLUSA offers webinars throughout the year (with unlimited access to archives for members), educational courses in partnership with organizations and learning opportunities through its Volunteer Councils and Co-op Circle online community.
