The global cooperative law community is invited to gather in Moshi, Tanzania on November 13-14 for the 5th International Forum on Cooperative Law, hosted by Moshi Cooperative University in collaboration with Ius Cooperativum and the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA)’s Cooperative Law Committee. This event brings together legal scholars, practitioners and cooperative leaders from around the world to explore the legal frameworks shaping cooperatives worldwide.

Under the theme “Cooperative Law and Sustainable Development: Past, Present and Future,” this year’s Forum will explore the evolving relationship between cooperative legal frameworks and sustainable development through a rigorous juridical lens.

This Forum marks a significant moment during the International Year of Cooperatives, offering a unique platform for legal scholars, cooperative practitioners, policymakers, and researchers to share insights across regional and national contexts.

The Forum is currently accepting submissions from those interested in presenting either in-person or virtually at this year’s gathering. Participants are invited to submit abstracts in English, French, Spanish or Portuguese by July 15, 2025. Selected contributions may be published in the International Journal of Cooperative Law and/or in a forthcoming book. Presentations will be held in English or French, with virtual participation also available.

Organizers will inform potential contributors by July 31 whether their abstract has been accepted.
