Why IMPACT matters this year, more than ever

As cooperators, we know our collective voice is most powerful when we come together—across sectors, industries and geographies—to advance our shared priorities. Just look at how cooperatives nationwide rallied with America’s Credit Unions to preserve the credit union tax status.

As co-ops and cooperative development centers face existential threats this year, navigating a new policy and funding environment can feel overwhelming. That’s why events like the IMPACT Conference are critical—this year more than ever. At IMPACT, we can truly embrace the spirit of Principle 6: lean into each other’s expertise and experience, benefit from fresh ideas and insights, and emerge inspired and equipped to develop, advance and protect cooperative enterprise.

In a new column, NCBA CLUSA President and CEO Doug O’Brien and Virginia Brown, Director of Cooperative Engagement and Member Outreach, unpack some of the challenges the co-op community is facing right now—and share the best way we can navigate these uncertainties.
