Before she joined Global Communities (formerly CHF International), Dr. Barbara Czachorska-Jones pursued a legal career in Poland receiving her doctorate degree in law from the Polish Academy of Sciences.

At Global Communities since early 1990’s, Barbara serves as Cooperative Advisor to the Cooperative Development Program supporting projects implemented worldwide. She has extensive experience managing shelter delivery projects, housing and privatization reforms, civil society and capacity building, the development of cooperatives, and training and leadership programs. During her years in various senior positions at Global Communities, Barbara has managed or contributed to cooperative housing and development projects focusing on cooperatives in the Philippines, South Africa, Bosnia, Poland, Mongolia, Rwanda and Kenya.

Barbara serves as a member of the board of the U.S. Overseas Cooperative Development Council (OCDC) and works closely with its Research Group as lead specialist on several collaborative projects focusing on cooperatives and their impact worldwide.
