It’s not too late to register for the 2016 Co-op 5K this Saturday. Register online by midnight on Wednesday, October 19 and be part of this family- and pet-friendly race/walk to support cooperative development and celebrate National Co-op Month!
Join other runners, joggers and walkers at Hains Point, East Potomac Park at 8 a.m. on Saturday, October 22 for this year’s event, a 3.1 mile run, jog or walk followed by a Co-op Feast at the Finish Line, featuring food from Equal Exchange, Organic Valley, Cabot Creamery Cooperative and Pachamama Coffee Cooperative.
All participants are eligible to win co-op prizes, not just the fastest runners in each age bracket. Click here to register as an individual or a team. This year’s participant kit includes a race t-shirt, race bib and temporary co-op tattoos!
Can’t make it to this year’s Co-op 5K, but still want to participate? Then take advantage of this year’s new Virtual 5K category. Register as a virtual participant and receive a race t-shirt after the event.
The Co-op 5K serves as a major fundraiser for the Cooperative Development Foundation (CDF), a 501(3)(c) nonprofit foundation headquartered in Washington, DC. CDF’s mission is to promote community, economic and social development through cooperative enterprise.
This year’s race is sponsored by National Cooperative Bank, Emmet, Marvin & Martin, LLP, CoBank, National Co+op Grocers, Loeb & Loeb, LLP, NCBA CLUSA, National Information Solutions Cooperative, CUNA Mutual Group, Cabot Creamery Cooperative, National Rural Electric Cooperative Association and National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corporation.
