Last week, we launched our Year of Co-ops Social Media Toolkit designed to build social media engagement during a year when cooperatives are in the global spotlight.
Today, May 28, is your first opportunity to engage in this public awareness campaign. Find this month’s premade image and sample messaging in the toolkit. Be sure to use the hashtags #CoopsYear and #BuildABetterWorld, and tag us in your posts. We’re @NCBACLUSA across platforms.
Leading up to Co-op Month in October, our monthly images and carousel posts are designed to introduce new audiences to the impact of cooperative businesses in the U.S. Next month, we’ll explore “what is a co-op?” and over the summer, we’ll dig into how co-ops grow local economies and build lasting value for their members and communities.
How to use the toolkit
We teamed up with the worker cooperative Partner & Partners on a toolkit to accompany our Co-op Impact Report. The toolkit elevates key data from the report and is designed to raise public awareness of co-ops as people-centered businesses at the heart of their communities.
The toolkit gives you the resources you need to participate in our Year of Co-ops Social Media Takeover, a monthly campaign that will culminate in Co-op Month celebrations in October.
Starting Wednesday, May 28 and taking place on the fourth Wednesday of every month through October, our Year of Co-ops Takeover will bring together co-ops across sectors on social media to share how co-ops build a better world.
The toolkit includes instructions, messaging prompts, hashtags and an editorial calendar. Navigate the resources using the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet. Under “Custom Posts,” find a set of posts that can be customized on Canva with your own photos and logos. Use these posts to share your co-ops stories all summer long.
