After you shop at your local co-op this Saturday, extend the goodwill through the holiday season and continue to support cooperatives around the country by making a donation to the Cooperative Development Foundation on #GivingTuesday, November 28!
The Cooperative Development Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation that promotes community, economic and social development through cooperative enterprises. It helps cooperatives rebuild after disasters, offers scholarships to co-op leaders and scholars, supports home care and food co-ops and brings clean water to cooperative coffee farmers in Indonesia.
In a message this week, CDF urged cooperators to support the thought leadership, technical expertise and cooperative development it provides to improve economic opportunity for everyone.
âYour support helps create an inclusive economy that reflects our cooperative values,â Rich Larochelle, Chair of the CDF Board, said in the message. âCDF can only accomplish its mission with the support of those who understand the unique value of cooperatives as a vehicle for meaningful change.â
Donate online, or mail a check to the Cooperative Development Foundation at 1775 Eye Street NW, 8th Floor, Washington, DC 20006.
Entering its sixth year, #GivingTuesday harnesses the potential of social media and the generosity of people around the world to bring about real change in their communities. Last year, the movement drew the participation of people and organizations in 98 countries and raised $177 million online.
Follow this yearâs global giving movement using the hashtag #GivingTuesday and look for social media posts next week from CDF and NCBA CLUSA.
