We are now accepting nominations and sponsorships for the Cooperative Leaders and Scholars Institute at IMPACT 2019.

Is there a promising young employee or board member at your cooperative, credit union or mutual who would benefit from learning more about the economic and social impacts of cooperatives, credit unions and mutuals? Are there any post-secondary students on your radar who are recognized for their demonstrated interest in our business model? Would you like to contribute financially to support the future of cooperative leadership?

NCBA CLUSA’s Cooperative Leaders and Scholars Institute is your opportunity to develop and engage employees, board members, and post-secondary students with participation in a national cooperative conference and exposure to co-op industry and thought leaders, policymakers and other key stakeholders.

All participants in the Cooperative Leaders and Scholars Institute will attend the full Co-op IMPACT Conference from October 1-4, 2019, free of charge, as well as participate in exclusive orientation and networking events designed specifically to meet their interests and broaden their understanding of the impacts cooperatives, mutuals and credit unions have on their members, communities and the broader economy.

CLSI 2019 will also include a one-day, pre-conference course on cooperative finance from Saint Mary’s University, held at NCBA CLUSA headquarters. Finally, CLSI participation comes with a $500 travel stipend and shared accommodations at the Sheraton Pentagon City conference hotel in Arlington, Virginia.

Here’s how you can help:

Nominate a participant

There are a limited number of full scholarships for the CLSI program, which is open to young employees, board members (ages 18-35) or post-secondary students. This year, we are particularly (but not exclusively) looking for young professionals or students who represent the agriculture or rural economies sectors. Scholarships will be awarded through a competitive process run by NCBA CLUSA. Winners will be announced by mid-August.
