You don’t need fancy, expensive equipment to join our video storytelling campaign—your iPhone or other smartphone already has a high-quality camera and microphone.

Have you submitted your video for our Year of Co-ops Storytelling Campaign yet? If not, what are you waiting for? That’s the message our storytelling ambassador Sonia Erika shared on Instagram this week.

“There’s never been a better time than today for us to show people the world of cooperatives. Why are we so special? Why are we so resilient?” Sonia said. “You’ve got a whole community of people watching your video and having a better understanding of what is is ya’ll do. And what does that mean? That means more people understanding your impact, more possibilities for funding, more possibilities for building community. So what are you waiting for?

Submit your video story by August 31 for a chance to win a category award, be featured at IMPACT 2025 and/or participate in our Year of Co-ops Film Fest Panel Discussion. Submission categories include social media content (up to 90 seconds), short-form videos (up to 2.5 minutes) and long-form videos (more than 2.5 minutes).

Not only is this a great opportunity to bring greater visibility to your co-op’s story and inspire others, you’ll also be contributing to a growing collection of video stories the entire co-op ecosystem can leverage for advocacy, outreach and education.

For this campaign, feel free to create a new video, or submit one your co-op already has on the shelf.
