NCBA welcomes new and returning co-op and associate members

The National Cooperative Business Association (NCBA) is excited to welcome six new and returning co-op and associate members to our vibrant and growing membership community building a stronger, more resilient economy.

Guilded Freelancer Cooperative, Maple City Market and Syracuse Cooperative Market joined NCBA through our P6 Membership Surge, an opportunity for cooperatives that are already members of a national or state association, or a federated co-op, to double their impact by joining our national network.

The Ah HAH Foundation works to address sociocultural issues of systemic injustice and environmental degradation by supporting innovative housing and employment solutions that move us toward a more inclusive, equitable and sustainable society.

A central focus of the foundation’s work is its co-op projects, which explore the transformative potential of employee ownership and cooperative housing. By expanding awareness and knowledge of cooperative opportunities, Ah HAH is helping to confront rising housing costs and the widening wealth gap.

 

 

Bermuda Economic Development Corporation

The Bermuda Economic Development Corporation (BEDC) works to create an expanded pool of inspired entrepreneurs running successful businesses that fuel Bermuda’s economy. Its mission is to inspire, inform, support and grow new and existing Bermuda businesses through education, guidance, data provision, advocacy, networking and financing.

Through its Economic & Cooperative Development Unit, BEDC seeks to cultivate a progressive, cutting-edge cooperative development ecosystem in Bermuda that can serve as a model for the wider cooperative world.

 

 

Guilded Freelancer Cooperative

Guilded Freelancer Cooperative is a cooperatively-owned platform and hub that gives freelancers access to the benefits traditionally associated with full-time employment. Guilded brings the power of pooled benefits, collective purchasing and collective advocacy to freelance and gig economy workers. The co-op provide access to healthcare, contract support, guaranteed payment systems, tax prep and more—all built to sustain and protect the creative labor that fuels our communities.

Guilded envisions a U.S. economy where all workers are treated with dignity and protected from exploitation.

 

 

Maple City Market

Maple City Market is Goshen, Indiana’s trusted source for wholesome, local and sustainably sourced food since 1975. Rooted in community and driven by purpose, the co-op believes that good food has the power to nourish more than just our bodies—it connects us to the land, to our neighbors, and to a healthier future.

Maple City Market works to create a healthy community nourished and educated by: 1) equitable economic practices, 2) regenerative environmental impact and 3) inclusive, socially responsible relationships.

 

 

Market Organic Cooperative

Market Organic Cooperative is a network of farmers and cooperatives united by a common challenge: the need for more cooperatively-owned infrastructure. With their goal to make healthy food accessible for all while ensuring farms and cooperatives flourish, MOC builds and shares tools, interfaces and infrastructure to simplify the direct exchange of crops, food, products, contracts and services—without unnecessary fees and brokerage.

Farms, producer co-ops, food co-ops and other cooperatives involved in food and agriculture are eligible to become members of Market Organic Cooperative.

 

 

Syracuse Cooperative Market

Founded by an energetic group of activists in the 1970s, the Syracuse Cooperative Market’s Kensington location has been the Westcott neighborhood’s grocery store for more than 50 years. The co-op’s founders envisioned a cooperatively-owned community with access to high-quality food and a way to support local growers and producers. In 2021, Syracuse opened their second location in the Salt City Market to serve a broader part of the Syracuse community.

Syracuse Cooperative Market’s mission is to provide great food, be a hub for a strong community and promote the local economy.
