Along with the launch of its newly redesigned website, Everything Co-op is proud to announce that its weekly radio show is now available in podcast format on iTunes.
Hosted by Vernon Oakes and conversational in format, Everything Co-op is a weekly exploration of the economic impact and potential of the cooperative business model. Since 2014, the show has worked to generate interest in and support for the cooperative movement.
Everything Co-op is streamed live at worldcnews.com every Thursday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. EDT and airs live in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area on WOL 1450 AM—Radio One’s premiere talk radio station. The move to iTunes significantly expands Everything Co-op’s audience.
By introducing more people to cooperatives and highlighting some of their biggest champions, Oakes believes Everything Co-op has the potential to transform communities nationwide.
“I fervently believe that if more people were aware of the cooperative business model, many of the problems being experienced in communities today would no longer exist,” he said.
Chuck Snyder, president of National Cooperative Bank—which sponsors Everything Co-op—said the lending institution is proud to support the show’s wider distribution. “We are excited that the podcast is now available for a national audience to learn more about cooperatives and the jobs and services they provide their local communities,” Snyder said.
The podcast and website redesign reflect efforts by the Everything Co-op Advisory Committee to expand the show’s listening audience.
The committee includes: Vernon Oaks, Host of Everything Co-op; Pat Thornton, Producer of Everything Co-op, Doug O’Brien, President & CEO of NCBA CLUSA; John Torres, Vice President of Communication and Public Relations for NCBA CLUSA; Chuck Snyder, President of National Cooperative Bank; Mo Manklang, Communications Director for the U.S. Federation of Worker Cooperatives; Liz Bailey, a cooperative consultant; Rodney North of the DC Cooperative Stakeholders Group; and Kaeleigh Barker Von Volkenberg of Cooperatives for a Better World.
