Matthew Epperson, driven by both passion and training, spent approximately ten years in the U.S. consumer-owned grocery retail co-op movement. Subsequently, he transitioned to work in finance and platform research co-ops. Currently, he holds the position of Employee Ownership Domain Expert at Zolidar, a startup dedicated to simplifying the process for small- to medium-sized enterprises to become employee-owned.

In 2017, Matthew Epperson established the Georgia Co-op Development Center, the sole statewide provider of technical assistance for startup and conversion co-op projects in Georgia.

Beyond his professional endeavors, he enjoys biking, hiking, practicing zazen meditation, discussing books and movies, and spending time with his fiancée, Julia. Matthew is also a 2012 recipient of the Keep Athens Clarke County Beautiful Citizen of the Year award and is a regular performer with his local improv comedy troupe Flying Squid Comedy.
