Please join the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)’s Rural Development on Thursday, July 13 at 11 am EDT for an announcement regarding technical assistance for grant applicants to the Rural Energy for America Program (REAP). Cooperatives, which are newly eligible in an unprecedented way for this funding, are encouraged to attend.
With the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act, REAP was provided more than $2 billion for renewable energy systems and energy efficiency improvement grants through 2031. This program spurs climate action by providing guaranteed loan financing and grant funding to help cooperatives, agricultural producers and other small businesses in rural America invest in clean energy.
In one example, PKM Electric Cooperative in Minnesota used $89,958 in REAP funds to replace old security lighting with LED lighting across their service area—a project they anticipate will save close to $50,000 every year in energy costs.
Thursday’s webinar will be most valuable for those who engage in, or seek to engage in, technical assistance for applicants to the REAP program funded by the Inflation Reduction Act.
