Cooperators are the Movement’s Best Advocates; Let NCBA CLUSA Amplify your Voice Before Lawmakers!

With the 2018 midterm elections just months away, legislators need to be informed of the scope and impact of cooperatives in their districts. As a movement that counts one-third of all Americans as members, we can tap into our tremendous collective voice to ensure that co-ops exert influence in the halls of Congress.

NCBA CLUSA would like to be your partner in arranging a meeting between you and your Congressional representative(s). One of the best ways to get co-op issues on the radar of lawmakers is to invite them to visit your co-op and learn about your legislative priorities directly. As a cooperator, you are the business model’s best advocate, knowing the ins and outs of your business in ways that every member of Congress would benefit learning from.

With resources like the Congressional Cooperative Business Caucus and relationships cultivated through our ongoing advocacy work, NCBA CLUSA is well-situated to handle the logistics of your meeting, leaving the agenda and what you talk about up to you.

Over time, the cooperative movement will be best served by making positions on cooperative issues a major part of what political hopefuls include in their issues pages and platforms.

If you’d like to set up a meeting with your representative, or have any questions, please email Greg Irving. NCBA CLUSA’s Advocacy team is here to work on your behalf and make the process as easy as possible.
