Everything Co-op kicks off Women’s History Month with 2015 Hall of Fame inductee Dr. Ann Hoyt

Join Everything Co-op as we continue our recognition of Women’s History Month, with a focus on this year’s theme of┬á“Women Providing Healing, Promoting Hope.”┬áThis week Vernon interviews Dr. Ann Hoyt,┬áEmerita Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison,┬áand a 2015 inductee into the Cooperative Hall of Fame. Vernon and Dr. Hoyt will discuss how women have used cooperatives to┬áProvide Healing and Promote Health, and new initiatives of┬áthe Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin.

Dr. Ann Hoyt is a Emerita Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she was Chair of the Consumer Science Department in the School of Human Ecology, and a consumer cooperative specialist with a focus on cooperative governance. After retiring She has served on many cooperative boards of directors, including the University of Wisconsin Credit Union for 21 years, nine years as chair; the National Cooperative Business Association for 25 years, 2 years as chair; and the National Cooperative Bank for 6 years.

Following Ann’s induction into the United States Cooperative Hall of Fame in 2015, she became a Emerita Director of the UW Credit Union in 2016. Currently she is Board Chair of the Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin and serves on the Willy Street Grocery Cooperative in Madison. Recently she worked with the International Cooperative Alliance on their project to reconsider and update the Statement of Cooperative Identity.
