UPDATE FROM UKRAINIAN COOPERATIVES
Last week, we heard from COOP Ukraine. They continue to weather brutal attacks and expressed gratitude for the international cooperative community’s support in the form of immediate humanitarian aid. They also identified additional areas of need that will help them rebuild in the future.
“Ukraine’s consumer cooperatives [are] suffering enormous losses,” said Illia Gorokhovskyi, chair of COOP Ukraine’s Board of Directors. “But we are determined to overcome everything and build a peaceful, happy Ukraine.”
The need in Ukraine is great. As mentioned previously, we are coordinating with the Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions to send $10,000 of donations to support PARD’s efforts to provide immediate food and shelter for displaced Ukrainians. The remainder of the funds raised will go directly to support COOP Ukraine.
