The Cooperative Development Foundation (CDF) has appointed two new members to its board of Directors: Devin Fuhrman, Vice President of Sponsor Relations for Nationwide Insurance in Columbus, Ohio, and Judy Ziewacz, President and CEO of the National Cooperative Business Association CLUSA International in Washington, D.C.

Ziewacz was appointed to complete the term of Gasper Kovach, who resigned in June. Kovach, who recently retired from the Highland Exchange Service Cooperative, served on the CDF Board for fourteen years including time as chair.

Fuhrman was appointed to fill an open board seat created when long-serving board member Karen Blickley, President of Nationwide Foundation, did not seek reappointment when her term expired.

Reappointed to the board were Larry Blanchard, Senior Consultant for CUNA Mutual; Carla Decker, President and CEO of District Government Employees Federal Credit Union; Deb Trocha, Executive Director of the Indiana Cooperative Development Center; Chuck Snyder, President and CEO of National Cooperative Bank; Christina Jennings, Executive Director of Shared Capital Cooperative; and Linda Tank (retired) of CHS Inc.

The CDF Board selected Rich Larochelle (retired) of National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corporation to serve as Chair. Larochelle was reappointed to the board in December. Trocha will serve as Vice Chair and Jennings as Secretary/Treasurer.

CDF has a nine-member board. Five members are appointed by NCBA CLUSA’s Board of Directors and four are appointed by the CDF Board.

The Cooperative Development Foundation promotes community economic and social development through cooperatives. CDF is a thought leader in the use of cooperatives to create resilient communities, including the housing and care needs of seniors. Through its funds, fiscal sponsorships and fundraising, CDF provides grants and loans that foster cooperative development domestically and abroad. CDF’s Cooperative Hall of Fame recognizes the accomplishments of outstanding cooperative leaders at the National Press Club in Washington, DC each year. CDF is a 501(c)3 public charity located in Washington, D.C.
