Christiane Gigi Hyland, Executive Director of the National Credit Union Foundation, will appear on Everything Co-op on Thursday, April 5. As Executive Director of the National Credit Union Foundation, Hyland heads up the philanthropic and social responsibility arm of America’s credit unions. Prior to her work with the Foundation, Gigi served as a board member of the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) for seven years. During her tenure on the board, she spearheaded a number of key initiatives including co-authoring a policy white paper on supplemental capital and a report on credit unions’ outreach to people of modest means.
In addition, Hyland served as NCUA’s representative on the NeighborWorks® America board of directors, and NCUA board liaison to the World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU), the National Association of State Charted Union Supervisors and the International Credit Union Regulators’ Network. She was recently named Financial Literacy Advocate of the Year by Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union.
