Nonprofit Quarterly (NPQ) is kicking off its year-long focus on building a more democratic economy with a series of articles published in the Summer 2018 issue of Nonprofit Quarterly magazine.
The seriesâwhich will include monthly webinars beginning in the fallâaims to boost understanding and foster conversation around how nonprofits and movements can most effectively respond to Americaâs rising inequality. The growing role of employee ownership is part of that conversation.
The âunique momentâ NPQ writes about in its introductory installment speaks to the contradictions in the U.S. economy and mirrors the âcooperative momentâ NCBA CLUSA is working to make the most of. For the first time in the 21st century, co-ops are poised to truly build a more inclusive economy.
Read NPQâs first installment below, and look for an article on the cooperative moment in the Summer 2018 issue of the Cooperative Business Journal!
