The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) has been named by The Washington Post as a Top Workplace for 2017, a ranking of the 150 best places to work in the greater Washington, D.C. area based on employee surveys.

It’s a mission that is baked into the DNA of our highly dedicated employees and brings great meaning to the work we do every day.”
“We have a culture of always wanting to do what’s right, to do our very best for our members and our employees,” said Michele Rinn, senior vice president of human resources. “We expect a lot from our employees, so we try to go the extra mile for them. That includes investing heavily in training, leadership development and employee retention. We want every employee to work with a strong sense of purpose and support.”
NRECA conducts a bi-annual engagement survey to gather employee feedback. The results help identify opportunities to improve the association’s work environment and ensure that employees are performing meaningful work aligned with organizational goals.
NRECA ranked sixth among large companies in The Washington Post’s 2017 rankings. The employee survey considered a range of factors, including work-life balance, pay and benefits practices and the quality of leadership. The survey was undertaken in partnership with the employee survey firm Workplace Dynamics.
The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association is the national service organization that represents the nation’s more than 900 not-for-profit, consumer-owned electric cooperatives, which provide service to 42 million people in 47 states.
