The Cooperative Council of North Carolina is an association of cooperatives in North Carolina, founded in 1935, whose mission is to promote, educate and connect cooperatives. Each year the association provides a new employee and new board member training for the membership. This year, the Cooperative Council will be hosting a virtual session of its Cooperative Dynamics Workshop on November 18th, 2021 for members. This course serves as an orientation targeted at relatively new employees and board members of cooperative businesses, but is applicable to employees and board members at any point in their career with a cooperative.

This is a fun, interactive and engaging program that includes live games, networking and shared information across industry sectors. With this being a virtual event, the association has a call out for presenters that are interested in contributing to the program. The Cooperative Council encourages you to select a topic, share some information and promote the cooperative movement in a way that engages attendees to learn about the different sectors and hear from diverse group of presenters.

Agenda Topics include but are not limited to:

  • Cooperative Principles
  • Cooperative Business Model
  • Types of Cooperative Ownership
  • Cooperative Governance
  • Roles of the Board, Staff and Members
  • Economic Impact of Cooperatives
