Agriculture can become a pathway to success for many young farmers of color as they grow into the next generation’s leaders. It is imperative that we create opportunities for them to learn how to support each other and build wealth.
On September 19, the Strengthening Cooperative Communities project at NCBA CLUSA, Producers Trust, and GALA, hosted the webinar “Youth Farming and Funding Resources to explore how the internet can influence youth in the agricultural space and the cooperative model, and included a moderated panel with Gerardo Martinez, founder and CEO of GALA, Abiodun Henderson, founder of Gangstas to Growers, Trey Blanchard, a graduate of Gangstas to Growers and Dave Bonnet from the USDA Farm Service Agency, who gave a presentation about eligible funding for youth farmers.
